Q: Does successful completion of the full program result in formal ordination as a Magdalene Priestess (or similar title) and membership in the Order of the Magdalene?

A: The “ordination” within this program is less about institutional or legal credentials, and more a recognition of an ordination that you have already received through The Mystery that has been given an infinite number of names (ie God). For legal credentials, you may consult Universal Life Church and your local state or county to determine what is legally required to officiate weddings (specifically).

Q: What does that ordination authorize or empower someone to do (for example, teaching, holding space, offering certain practices or rites)?

A: A huge part of this program, and what sets it apart from many others, is the care and consideration given to vocational call. Through a variety of processes and using a variety of tools, you will be provided with an opportunity to discover/discern your own unique giftedness and how you are called to live that out for the sake of your own fulfillment and in service to the betterment of the world. How you live out your “ordination” will be informed by this process, and will be unique to you. For example, in my own journey, it became clear that my primary charism is teaching which is further supported by the additional charisms of knowledge, encouragement, discernment of spirits, and writing. As such, I live out my ordination in a variety of ways, all ultimately tied to teaching.

Q: Is there an ongoing community or organizational structure for those who complete the training?

A: It was my original intention that this (ongoing community and organizational structure) be the case. Apparently this is not what “God” intended. As it has turned out, we are a loosely connected group of women and men who have chosen (or have been chosen for) a specific path of formation and find connection as needed and where offered. It has been fascinating to watch this unfold in the 15 years I’ve been offering the training in its current form. The best way I can describe this is that I serve as some sort of hub on a wheel of independent yet interconnected spokes who choose to connect with each other in a variety of ways, and/or with me as needed. There are also varying degrees in which “we” connect. There have also ended up being a variety of ways in which “members” have found formation. Some began this training, and felt called to divert while maintaining a connection, others have completed the training in its entirety, and others have not taken this training specifically, but found themselves called along similar paths through different means.

Q: How does the full program differ from taking the individual courses separately?

A: The full training includes one-on-one mentoring which is accomplished at the end of each completed course along with the final ordination module. There is also a cost-savings in enrolling in the full training vs taking the courses one at a time and paying for individual mentoring sessions. The final ordination module is not available for those taking the courses one at a time or absent the one-on-one sessions.

Q: What is the current structure, duration, and investment for the complete track?

A: The details of the training are listed on my website. 7 individual courses. 64 weeks of content. 6 one-on-one mentoring sessions.  It takes most people 18 months to complete the training. You take the courses at your own pace, and in your own time.
